International Conference on VLSI, Communication and Instrumentation ( ICVCI -2011).

ICVCI-11 was organized by the Departments of Applied Electronics & instrumentation and Electronics & Communication of SAINTGITS College of Engineering along with ISA south India section and IETE. This joint conference was a forum for researchers and designers to present and discuss various aspects of VLSI design, Embedded systems, Communications, Instrumentation and enabling technologies. It covered the entire spectrum of activities in the three vital areas of very large scale integration (VLSI), Communication and Instrumentation, which underpin the Semiconductor industries Process Industries and Communication Technologies. Workshop on Virtual Instrumentation was held on the first day. Industry presentation sessions, panel discussions and industrial exhibits round off the program.

International Conference on VLSI and Communication ( ICVCom -'09 )

The first International Conference on VLSI and Communication, ICVCom '09, hosted by the Department of ECE & AEI, SAINTGITS College of Engineering was held from the 16th to 18th of April 2009. Out of the 520 papers that werereviewed, 210 papers were selected and 190 papers were presented in the conference.

A pre-conference tutorial on Biometrics was given by Dr. Ashok Rao, formerly Head Network Project, IISc., Bangalore. Expecting Dr. Ashok's talk to technically pave the way to IC-VCOM '09, the audiences experienced in live, the discussions that revolved around the current social issues and the fact that the technological advancements must be used for constructive rather than destructive purposes. The latter half of Dr. Rao's talk dealt with the technical aspects of Face Recognition.ICVCom '09 was inaugurated by Dr. Tamal Bose, by lighting the lamp. He also delivered the inaugural address, in which he mentioned the college and the milestones of the department as it conducted each national and international conference. He spelled the importance of research work, which is exciting and increasingly being lucrative these days.


IEEE SSCS Students Chapter organized a talk cum Interactive Session on 'Polymer MEMS: An Emerging Technology for Nanomechanical Sensors', as part of 'Knowledge Enhancement Talk Series 2016' on3rd May, 2016. Dr. Seena V, Department of Avionics, Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), Trivandrum handled the comprehension session and led the interactive session on the topic. The session began with a prayer at 10am. Prof. Shajimon K John, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Saintgits College of Engineering, introduced the chief guest Dr. Seena V to the audience. Prof. Koshy Varghese, Vice Principal Saintgits College of Engineering were also present for the programme. Dr. Seena V delivered a lecture on 'Polymer MEMS: An Emerging Technology for Nanomechanical Sensors'. Dr. Seena V gave an introduction on Micro-Electro-Mechanical System and also the latest trends in polymer MEMS.


On behalf of ASGEC, a technical talk and interactive session on the topic 'Mobile Communications' was conducted for the students of Electronics and Communications Department by Er.Sunil Isaac on Thursday,1st august of 2013 at 3 p.m. The chief guest, Er.Sunil Isaac is currently heading Ericsson Airtel Business in Nigeria. He is one of the top ten principal certified Project Managers in Ericsson.The present and future trends and applications of Mobile phones was the main subject for discussion.Er.Zacharia Kurian,Project engineer in Techno Waves, Kochi and Er.Jai T.Abraham,Project Manager, working in Bahrain also participated in the discussion.
