The Electrical and Electronics Engineering department at Saintgits prides itself for being not only one of the founding departments, but also one that secured a University rank from among the very first batch of graduates (2006). The post-graduate program in Power Systems was launched in 2008. The department offers a complete experiential learning experience through renowned and experienced faculty, excellence in research, technical workshops, camps and industrial visits. Electrical and Electronics Engineering is a dynamic and exciting field. Students get a complete understanding of electrical engineering, including generation, transmission, control and utilization of electrical power, and of electronics engineering, including the...Read More

Mould globally competent value added professionals in Electrical and Allied Engineering having the spirit of innovation and research to support technological and economic development of the nation.
• Expertise the students in theory and practice through high quality teaching- learning process.
• Inculcate the skill of research and innovation by consistent institute industry interaction.
• Provide opportunity to organize and to take part in technical, cultural and socially relevant programmes in tandem with the curriculum.
Graduates of this program are equipped for challenging careers in design and development, manufacturing, marketing, and management, among others, and are highly sought after by technology-intensive companies in the domains of biomedical, communications, computers, data storage, electronics, electrical energy systems, networking, semiconductors, software and intelligent systems.
Electrical and Electronics Engineering is a highly prized field, and our graduates have found careers in industries related to electronics, oil and gas, marine, materials and metals, pharmaceuticals, construction, defense, telecoms, chemical, railway, aerospace and automotive manufacturing.
This course started in 2008 and has an annual intake of 36 students in two batches. Students, who are graduate engineers, get trained in state-of-the-art techniques in power system analysis, computer applications, optimization, control, security, dynamics and stability of power systems, HVDC transmission, FACTS, industrial electronics and controls, power electronics and drives, wind and solar energy conversion systems, among others. Projects are undertaken in the final semester of the course.
Power engineers work in a wide variety of industrial and commercial facilities. Many industrial facilities require their power engineers to operate not only on the support utilities, but also on the processing sections of the operation. Facilities that typically require power engineers include hydrocarbon processing plants (refineries, gas plants etc.), thermal oil recovery (oil sands), power generation stations, chemical and petrochemical plants, office buildings, mines etc. Defence organizations such as DRDO, research and development laboratories such as CPRI, and MNCs such as ABB, Alstom, TATA, and RIL offer adequate opportunities for our graduates.
