Saintgits MCA is a vibrant programme that molds academically excellent students who make outstanding contributions in the Software Industry. The learning atmosphere being more practical oriented makes the transition from an educational institution to an industry effortless. Workshops and Seminars conducted

• The SAINTGITS CSI Student Branch and Saintgits MCA programme organized a Tech Talk on "Ubuntu Linux" on 31^st July, 2009. Session was handled by Mr. Pankaj Advani, an Ubuntu Linux expert from Canonical, Mumbai.
• Radieux1.0, a National Level Inter Collegiate Technical Extravaganza organized by MCA @ SAINTGITS on 31^st July 2009 and 1st of August 2009. This tech fest is inaugurated by Mr. George Abraham, CTO, and UN Pension Fund.
• The SAINTGITS CSI Student Branch and Saintgits MCA programme organized a "Tech Talk on Cyber Crime & Cyber Forensics" on 7^th August, 2009. The Session was handled by Mr. P. Vinod Bhattathiripad, Consulting Cyber Forensic Engineer, Golden Jubilee Software, Calicut and he gave a clear idea on the necessity of finding cyber crime with live examples.
• The SAINTGITS CSI Student Branch and Dept.of MCA & CSE organized a seminar on "Java Technologies and PHP" on 23^rd August, 2009. Sessions were handled by Mr Boby Thomas and Mr Shoby C Nair, Clave Land Technologies, Kottyam and they explained the basics of Java and PHP Technologies and its features in detail.
• SAINTGITS College of Engineering has signed an MoU with Infosys Technologies through its Campus Connect Programme. As part of this programme, teaching staffs are being trained by Infosys through Faculty Enablement Programme (FEP) at Infosys Campus, Chennai. The CC programme includes subjects that cover the basic knowledge required for software professionals. Mr. Hari S, Programme Coordinator, Infosys Development Center, Trivandrum and Mr. Ravi Illimattathil, Manager, Software Testing dept, Trivandrum, visited SAINTGITS on 26^th August 2009. Mr. Hari S introduced the new version of FDP programme FP 3.0 and explained its features and importance.
• A one day International Workshop on Open Source Tools in Engineering, organized by the Dept.of MCA& CSE, SFSC and CSI Student Branch of SAINTGITS College of Engineering was held on 30^th October 2009. Sessions Handled by: Prof. (Dr.) Clif Kussmaul -Associate Professor of Computer Science at Muhlenberg College, Allentown, PA, USA, Dr. Achuthsankar S. Nair - Hon. Director, Center of Bioinformatics, University of Kerala, Thiruvanathapuram, Dr. Hema Ramachandran - Asst Professor in Electrical Engineering at the University College of Engineering, Karyavattom and Er. Indulal S - Lecturer in the Department of Electrical Engineering, College of Engineering, Trivandrum.
• A one day Workshop on Intricacies of Programming/Debugging in Linux for faculties and students, organized by the Dept. of MCA & CSE was held on 6^th February 2010. Mr. Sajith, L&T Infotech, Chennai, explained the various commands and debugging techniques used in Linux.
• A one day seminar on Data Structures using C, Computer Graphics and Multimedia and System Software organized by the Dept. of MCA & CSE was held on 19^th December 2009. Er. Vicky Nair, Er. Nisha Joseph, Er. Jo Cherian, Er. Divya Mohan, Er. Ria Mathews, Er. Vidhya K R, Er. Noby K Jacob and Er. Jayakrishna V explained the basic concept regarding the above subjects and gave experimental demonstrations.
• A one day workshop on the topic Campus Connect FP 3.0 Courses and Raptor- a flowchart interpretation tool organized by the Dept. of MCA was held on 6^th March 2010. Sessions were handled by Ms. Ambili P.S and Er. Jo Cherian , based on the training received by them at the Infosys Deep Drive Programme. Discussions also held regarding the practicalities of effective implementation of FP 3.0.

MCA Students Achievements

• Renjith Rajan A, Amal James, Hariah P.K, Faisal K and Isen Varghese has won the First prize in the ENTRA LABYRINTHO( Treasure Hunt) in the National Level I.T Fest INIZIO'09 at Sree Narayana Guru Institute of Science and Technology (SNGIST), Ernakulam.
• Robin S Parriath, Vinu Gopinath, Binu Jacob Scaria and Praveen T V done an In-campus project Library Access System Software for Automating Access to Library using ID Cards.
• Robin S Parriath has won the First prize in C Coding in the National Level I.T Fest IGNITE '10 at Marian College, Kuttikkanam.
• Umesh Kumar U, Jigil Krishnan, Mithun P and Binu Jacob Scaria has won the Second prize in Network Gaming in the National Level I.T Fest IGNITE '10 at Marian College, Kuttikkanam.
• Jigil Krishnan, Sumith Varghese, Binu Jacob Scaria, Veena K H and Ragi G Nair won Second prize in Marketing in the National Level I.T Fest DAKSH '10 at Kristhu Jyothi, Changanassery.
• Saintgits MCA programme acquired 96.9% pass percentage in the Fourth Semester University examinations and positioned in the second place among the 16 MCA colleges under MG University.
