SIM is a research focused business school which endeavors to nurture research. The institute has acknowledged research as its thrust area and endeavors to make itself as a renown research centre. The institute provides it faculty members with all infrastructure facilities and amenities to carry out research which includes online databases, individual laptops, high speed internet connectivity, full sponsorships to attend training programmes and conferences. For enhancing the research skills among its faculty, SIM regularly conducts internal FDPs and sponsors the faculty to attend external FDPs. Conducting conferences and workshops is a regular activity of the institute. The faculty members also regularly publish articles in refereed journals and present papers in conferences.
Recognizing the facilities available and SIM's contribution towards research Anna University, Coimbatore has approved SIM as a Research Centre for its Ph. D program in Management. Similarly Indian Council of Social Science Research, New Delhi has granted permission to a SIM faculty member to do his Post Doctoral research at SIM

Saintgits Research Centre, a research centre promoted by Saintgits is recognized by Anna University Coimbatore, for its Doctoral program in Management. SIM has a strong faculty which includes two Ph. D holders and three M. Phil graduates who regularly publish articles and present papers in national and international conferences.SIM owns a well stocked library which has a large collection of books from the different functional areas of management and related areas. The library also subscribes to international and national journals. It also subscribes to an internationally renowned online journal database EBSCO which is a biggest source of articles for business research. The most reputed Indian corporate data base Prowess of Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy and widely used statistical package SPSS are utilized by the faculty members for data collection and interpretation. The Institute has access to Indiastat, an economic database and subscribes to ECCH cases for the benefit of academicians and researchers.
