Computer Society of India- Students Chapter(CSI)

The Computer Society of India is a non-Profit professional meet to exchange views and information learn and share ideas. The mission of the CSI is to facilitate research, knowledge sharing, learning and career enhancement for all categories of IT professionals, while simultaneously inspiring and nurturing new entrants into the industry and helping them to integrate into the IT community. The CSI is also working closely with other industry associations, government bodies and academia to ensure that the benefits of IT advancement ultimately percolate down to every single citizen of India. Today, the CSI has 66 chapters all over India, 381 student branches, and more than 40,000 members, including India's most famous IT industry leaders, brilliant scientists and dedicated academicians. Dr K. Paulose, Director of Computer Science & Studies, CUSAT inaugurated the 67th CSI branch at SAINTGITS campus  and talked about the mission of CSI, the present recession in the IT Field and ways to  overcome the problems. He emphasized the need to develop creative attitude and loyalty.

The student’s branch at SAINTGITS College of Engineering has more than 250 student members. Every year different programs are organized by the CSI student’s branches which are tailor made to the requirements of the student community. The student branch also helps the students to avail special assistance for participating in various activities hosted by other institutions.

Glimpses of Major Activities 

Hands on Training on ‘Open Source Computing ‘  for 2015 Admission students.

 Students of 2015 admissions were given a hands on training on Open Source Computing on          November 5th ,2016. The sessions were planned so as to make the students aware about the role  of Open source computing tools in Engineering study.

Internship training in association with CDAC on the topic Python Programming for 2015 admission students. 

CSI Students branch in association with CDAC (Centre for Development of Advanced Computing ) has offered a one week training for our students. Students were given training in various topics related to python programming , usage of python in web development etc.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Talk on project planning and execution by resource person from CDAC.

Project planning and execution is an important area in software development .Resource person from CDAC delivered their expertise in the design and development phase of software systems.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Cybersecurity workshop in association with Cyberx Securities.

Information security is an important area whcih requires the expertise from a Computer Science Engineer.Our students were given an insight into the realms of Cyber Security by resource person from 'Cyberx Securities'.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Training on CASE Tools by Mr. K.S Mathew

Mr. K.S Mathew is known expert in Software development methedologies and relevant development tools.
