NSS Tech Cell

The motto of N.S.S. is to evoke in every individual the feeling of 'Not me, But you' and involve college youth in social service. The NSS Tech unit of our college actively engages in various social service activities in and around the college. They organize festival celebrations, Blood donation camps, medical awareness camps, distribution of clothes, books etc. The overall objective of the scheme is educational and service to the community and is aimed at developing the overall personality of the students in such a way so that the students emerge as responsible individuals encompassing the virtues of life. NSS volunteers are an asset to the society. NSS Unit helps to develop a sense of service, team spirit and dignity of labour. The various program conducted by the NSS have brought about a remarkable change in their outlook and their attitude towards life and society. It underlines that the welfare of an individual is ultimately dependent on the welfare of society on the whole. Our NSS unit is acting as a catalyst to build up the right type of leadership in an Institution.

Academic Year: 2018-19

  • FLOOD RELIEF PROGRAMMES (19/8/2018, 20/08/2018)

The activites mainly conducted at various flood affected areas of Panachikad and Puthupally panchayath. We have distributed kits which consists of four items Towel, Bed sheets, Soaps, Nighty (women) and Lungi (men). We moved in two groups one to Panachikad area and one to the Puthupally area. In addition to the dress kits we have provided 185 food packets for the campers at Choorachira govt. L.P School. A large number of staff and students helped in arranging this much food packets in time.  On 20/08/2018 we conducted our flood relief programmes at various camps of Kottayam. We provided dress kits for them. Same as yesterday, we distributed the kits which consists of four items Towel, bed sheets, soap, Nighty (women) and Lungs (men).We distributed the kits at Pathiyapally, Sankarapuram, Chingavanam, Kanjiram, Sankranthi and Irayilkadav.

  • THE REHABILITATION SURVEY (26/08/2018 to 2/09/2018)

The NSS units of our college actively participated in the post flood rehabilitation programmes last week. The programmes were conducted under the guidelines of DTE, KTU and NSS State cell. We are asked to conduct the programmes at Madapally block Panchayath. The programmes include rehabilitation survey, assessment of loss and estimation. We started the programmes on 26/08/2018 and concluded on 2/09/2018 without any breaks. Total 104 students (NSS volunteers) participated in the programmes. The students covered more than 1600 houses of the Paipad, Vazhapally, Thrikodithanam, Vakathanam, Thuruthi areas of the Madapally block Panchayath.

  • THE NSS DAY (24/09/2018)

The NSS units of SAINTGITS College of Engineering, celebrated the NSS Day on 24-09-2018 in colour. In the morning, Dr. M.D. Mathew, the principal hoisted the NSS flag. The NSS song has been sung and the pledge has also been taken.

  • CLASS ON TOBACCO ABUSE (28/09/2018)

The Panachikkad primary health centre conducted a class on the illicit use of drug abuse and the impact of the drugs on human body. Also they had taken a class on the severity of population explosion which we are going to face.

  • OBSERVATION OF SURGICAL STRIKE DAY (29/09/2018)

On September 29, 2016, Indian defense forces conducted surgical strikes against the militants across the border. On behalf of this day programmes and talks were conducted. Students actively participated in the programmes.

  • GANDHI JAYANTHI CELEBRATIONS (2/10/2018)

On behalf of Gandhi Jayanthi celebrations a cleaning drive was conducted at Ullasatheeram. Students actively participated in the campaign and activity with a mind that cleanliness is near to godliness. The programme commenced by 7:30 am. Sri. Pallikonam Rajeev, the district co-ordinator of Meenachil River rejuvenating programme inaugurated the function. The local people also supported the endeavour very much.

  • ORIENTATION FOR FIRST YEAR VOLUNTEERS (6/10/2018)

The orientation class for first year volunteers was conducted on 06-10-2018, Saturday. Er. Francis Augustine Joseph, former programme officer took the orientation. The volunteers were taught the history, philosophy and various other aspects of NSS.

  • OBSERVANCE RASHTRIYA SANKALP DIWAS (National Re-dedication Day)

31 October, the death anniversary of late Prime Minister Smt. Indira Gandhi, is observed as” Rashtriya Sankalp Diwas” (National Re-dedication Day) every year. Two-minute silence was be observed from 10.15 AM to 10.17 AM . All members of staff and students observed silence, which was be followed by taking a National Integration Pledge .The National Anthem was sung after taking the pledge.

  • RASHTREEYA EKADA DIWAS

The NSS technical cell units of our college conducted programmes on behalf of Rashtreeya Ekada Divas, the birth anniversary of late Sardar Vellabhai Patel. On 2-11-2018, we conducted an essay writing competition on the topic 'Vision  of  Sardar  Vellabhai Patel'. Sherin Abraham (S3 ME A) and Esther Mary Jacob (S5 CS A) bagged the first and second prizes. On 3-11-2018, a talk on National integration was arranged. Lt.Col.John Jacob delivered the lecture. 60 students attended the programme.

  • NSS VEGETABLE ORGANIC GARDENING

The organic farm initiative of NSS units of SAINTGITS College of Engineering, is going in full swing. Activities are conducting on every day after the regular class timings

  • ENVIRONMENT DAY CELEBRATIONS (June 5 2017)

Tree planting at Adopted School; LPS, Pathamuttom was inaugurated by Dr.M.C. Philipose, Principal, Saintgits College of Engineering. Mrs. Sosamma (Head Mistress, LPS Pathamuttom) gave an enlightening talk on tree planting.

  • WASTE PAPER COLLECTION

NSS volunteers collected waste papers from bins kept at hostel to generate fund for home for homeless project. Papers were also segregated and usable unwritten papers were bound together to make new books.

  • GRADUATION DAY

Graduation Day for final passing out students was held at SAINTGITS College of Engineering amphitheatre on 19th June, 2017. Total of 75 volunteers actively participated in the program. NSS volunteers supported venue committee and refreshment committee to make it a grand success

  • CLEANLINESS DRIVE

Kerala government's three-day 'massive' cleanliness drive, aimed at checking the spread of mounting fever cases, got underway today with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan leading the programme was held from 27th to 29th June, 2017 in various parts of Kerala. NSS volunteers of our college took part in the cleanliness drive at Pathamuttom village in the leadership of our Principal and Programme officer to accomplish the mission for the prosperity of our land in its fullness.

  • PUNARJJANI CAMP

The NSS Technical Cell Units of our college conducted the Punarjjani Camp at Government Medical College Kottayam from 26th to 28th March 2017. In the camp the NSS team have restored hospital assets worth Rs 13,52,700. A meeting was conducted at Kalamaserry to honour the NSS Units who have participated in  this  venture.  Dr.  T.M  Thomas  Issac,  the Honourable Finance Minister inaugurated the meeting and V.K Ibrahim Kunju MLA presided the function. On behalf of our NSS Technical Cell Units of SAINTGITS, Mr. Derin Raju had received the memento and one of our volunteer Mr. Abhijith Rajendran of S4 ME-A received the certificates.

  • VAYANAKALARI

NSS Technical Cell unit started a new initiative named ‘Vayanakalari' project to encourage reading habits among children of adopted school on 3-07-2018. In a special assembly organized at Government LPS, Pathamuttom, Ms. Mini Susan John, Director – MCA, Saintgits inaugurated the programme by handing over a copy of the newspaper to the school headmistress, Mrs. Soosamma. Department of MCA sponsored a copy of Malayala Manorama newspaper to the school to distribute on all working days. The students will get an opportunity to read newspaper daily and can be utilized for their project works too.

  • MAINTENANCE OF HOUSES

NSS Technical Cell received application from Ms. Shylaja hailing from Kuzhimattom requesting to furnish roofing of her existing house. Mrs. Shylaja is working in Canteen and is the only bread winner of the family. Her husband is undergoing chemo treatment for lung cancer and two children doing graduation and intermediate. Though she received a fund of Rs.2 lacs from Government to construct a house and was not sufficient to build the house. She also took a loan of Rs.2 lakhs in addition. In this critical situation, a helping hand for constructing the roof which costs Rs.130000/- was a great help for her family. In July 2017, construction of roof was completed by NSS Tech Cell with the help of volunteers and project team. House warming ceremony was done on 18/10/2017 and leaving with her family happily.

  • CLEANING AT ADOPTED SCHOOL AND COLLEGE. (02.08.2017 – 05.08.2017)

Environment is the place where human as well as plants and animals lives. Keeping it clean is our responsibility. NSS tech cell unit joined hands to clean the adopted school and college. It was a four day program and took ten hours to complete the whole work.

  • INTENSIVE CLEANING OF THE VILLAGES AND SELECTED PLACES - (11TH AUGUST 2017)

The surroundings where we live should always be clean so as to live better life in future.. To implement it our college NSS volunteers took the initiative to clean the locality nearby. A class was conducted to create awareness among the people and the youth.

  • INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION (15th August 2017)

On behalf of Independence Day, celebration was conducted on 15th August 2107. As usual we hoisted the National flag and the National Anthem was sung and sweets were distributed among the volunteers and staff.

  • SPECIAL CAMP (31.08.2017-6.09.2018)

The 7-day special camp of the NSS conducted at GLPS Kuzhimattom with a number of programmes like skill development, beach cleaning, orientation classes etc.

 

Academic Year: 2016-17

  • CANCER AWARENESS CLASS

A cancer awareness class was conducted on 15th February 2017 to staff and students of SAINTGITS College of Engineering. Dr. Binu Areekal, Head-Department of Community Medicine, Medical College, Kottayam was invited as resource person.

  • GROUND PREPARATIONS

On 24th February 2017, volunteers taken part in the cleaning and other preparation works on the college ground for Annual Sports meet.

  • VISHA RAHITHA VISHU

On 28th February 2017, Cultivation work continued on the day. Volunteers actively worked for the program. More grow bags were filled and watered.

  • WELDING WORKSHOP

Training for welding was held for volunteers, so as to be trained for Punarjjani 2017 camp which was held on 4th March 2017.

  • DEFENCE TRAINING FOR WOMEN

A general class on immediate defence measures was conducted for girl volunteers on 4th march 2017.

  • AWARENESS ON WATER CONSERVATION

A water conservation campaign was conducted on the5th March 2017 in the adopted village so as to make them aware of present climate scenario and global warming.

  • NSS GENERAL MEETING

On 7th March 2017, POs , APOs and Volunteers are gathered in the NSS Tech cell room for the evaluation of the works of the unit and a discussion for the upcoming programs was conducted.

  • AWARENESS CLASS ON DRUG ABUSE

An awareness class was conducted on 8th March 2017 for the students on drug abuse. The class was very effective. The issues related with drugs and other such materials were discussed deeply during the class.

  •  HE FOR SHE

As part of women’s day celebration campaign was organized to spread the importance of women empowerment among society on 9th March 2017.

  •  VISIT AT OLD AGE HOME

Volunteers visited the BETHANY AZRAM and helped them in their daily works as well as entertained them with small programs like songs and dance on 11th March 2017.

  • RAIN PIT FOR RAIN WATER HARVESTING

As part of rain water conservation and for spreading awareness, volunteers made rain water harvesting pits in nearby houses. Volunteers actively participated in the program on 12th March 2017 and made it a success.

  • PAPER BAG MAKING

For spreading the importance of self-employment, class for making paper bags was conducted on 14th March 2017 at NSS Tech cell room.

  • PRE-CAMP VISIT TO MEDICAL COLLEGE

Group of 10 students from SAINTGITS NSS TECHCELL visited Medical College Hospital on 14th March 2017 to collect the list of equipment to be rejuvenated as part of Punarjjani Mini Camp to be held from 24th to 26th March 2017.

  • VISIT TO SCHOOL FOR SCHOOL FOR DIFFERENTLY ABLED

A fund raising campaign was done during the month of March 2017on a special request from SEENAI School for differently abled, Uzhavoor with due consent. From the visit of program officers and volunteers, On 15th March 2017, Techcell was decided and handed over Rs.10000/- to meet their livelihood needs.

  • WATER CONSERVATION DAY CELEBRATION

To sustainably manage the natural resources of fresh water, volunteers commemorated water conservation day on 22nd March 2017. Samples were collected from households to monitor quality of drinking water. Samples were tested at in house environment lab and reports were issued . Digging pits for rain water harvesting were also initiated at Pathamuttom village.

  •  PUNARJJANI MINI CAMP

A project designed by NSS Technical Cell to bolster the infrastructure facilities at public sector institutions through undertaking a major initiative in the maintenance of equipments. The camp was commenced at KOTTAYAM MEDICAL COLLEGE from 24th March2017 to 26th March 2017 by creating an amount of Rs.135200/- worth durable assets.

  •  SALE OF HANDMADE DETERGENTS

NSS tech Cell volunteers of college has arranged sale of handmade detergents on 23rd April 2017. Detergents prepared by volunteers are marketed by themselves to their peers and staff of SAINTGITS and generated income towards charity fund.

  • SRISHTI 2017

 SRISHTI 2017, a technical fest of SAINTGITS College of Engineering held on 13th and 14th February 2017, about 120 volunteers are actively coordinated the program.

  • ROAD SAFETY AWARENESS CLASS

A general awareness class was conducted on 9th February 2017 at Panachikkad Panchayat  Kerala Motor Vehicle Department on the topic “Road safety”.

  • WASTE PAPER COLLECTION

In order to raise fund for charity, on 31st January 2017 waste paper, cardboard boxes, printed papers, etc. were collected, separated and sold.

  • REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATIONS

Republic day was celebrated by hoisting flag by Lt. Col. John Jacob, The Chief Operating Officer, SAINTGITS College of Engineering in the presence of PO, APO, volunteers.

  • DIGITAL ECONOMY AND FINANCIAL LITERACY

As part of National Youth Week, a practical session on Digitalization and cashless society was conducted on 19th January 2017.session was took by Er. Harinarayanan Nampoothiri. All staff and students are participated to the session. The practical session on Universal Payment Interface based on money transaction like BHIM app, PAYTM with the help of NSS volunteers was very informative to all.

  • HOUSING – A SWEET DREAM

A Funding scheme for building or repairing the houses of poor in PANACHIKKAD GRAMA PANCHAYATH was initiated. The fund will be generated through scale of scrap papers collected from NSS bins placed at various departments.  Ms. Manjusha ‘s application is considered to support terrace work of her new house constructed with the support of Panchayat  and issued Rs.107000/- on 19th December 2016 for the construction of roof on her house.

  • NSS SEVEN DAY SPECIAL CAMP

A seven day special camp for volunteers was conducted from 18th December 2016 to 24th December 2016 at SAINTGITS College of Engineering. The main activities include visit to the Urallikuzhi Tribal Colony, Book Binding etc.

  •  PRE-CAMP ORIENTATION

A pre-camp orientation was conducted on 8th December 2016 as part of upcoming seven day special camp. programs were leaded by Er. Francis Augustine Joseph. He inspired us about all NSS related activities.

  • AIDS DAY OBSERVATION

Volunteers observed AIDS day by distributing red ribbons among faculties and staff members as a symbol for worldwide efforts to increase public awareness on HIV on 1st December 2017.

  • NATIONAL INTEGRATION WEEK CELEBRATIONS

National integration week was as per the directions given by NSS Technical Cell. As part of the celebration, National Integration pledge, Essay competitions and poster designing competitions were conducted on 23, 24th November 2017.

  •  ELECTRIFICATION OF HOUSES

Our NSS Tech cell has undertaken the electrification of two houses with aid from college. Volunteers accompanied and helped the electricians in the work on 22nd November 2017.

  • CHILDREN’S DAY CELEBRATION

Volunteers celebrated children’s day on 14th November 2016 with the children at Govt. L. P School, Pathamuttom. Various games and entertainment activities are organized for their happiness.

  • MANAVEEYAM PLEDGE AND CONCLUSION

The Manaveeyam week came to an end on the day. The program was concluded on 2nd October 2016 with Manaveeyam pledge. The whole volunteers along with PO and APO took the pledge.

  • GANDHI JAYATHI CELEBRATIONS

On 2nd October 2016, as part of Gandhi Jayandhi celebrations, cleaning and beautifying of the place under the banner ‘ULLASATHEERAM’ was done.

  •  SKILL DEVELOPMENT CLASS FOR WOMEN EMPOWERMENT

On 29th September 2016, NSS and JCI jointly conducted a session on skill development as part of women empowerment.

  • TREE PLANTATION (MANAVEEYAM)

As part of Manaveeyam , tree plantation has been conducted in the adopted village Panachikkad on 28th September 2016.

To initiate the manaveeyam project, a meeting was conducted on 22nd September 2016 by Programme Officer , Mr. Derin Raju and allocated duties for volunteers.

  • GENERAL AWARENESS CLASS

As part of Manaveeyam ,a general awareness class was organized for students of 1st to 4th standard of Thalappadi LPS school on 31st august 2016. During the class the student were taught the importance of avoiding plastic and eco-friendly environment and also motivated them for becoming the future leaders.

NSS Technical cell as part of 70th Independence day celebration on 14th August 2016 by candle light procession.

  • DETERGENT MAKING

NSS Tech Cell brought raw materials for manufacturing detergents and lotions and the team had spent hours during their holidays to produce about 420kg of detergent.

  • AWARENESS ON WOMEN SAFETY     

        NSS Tech Cell conducted a Tabloid depicting atrocities against women on 5th May 2016.

  • LIFE SCHOOL 2016

As part of NSS Community Service activities the NSS Tech Cell conducted a 5-day workshop program in association with World Vision Organization named as ‘Life School 2016’ from 23rd to 27th April 2016.

  • TALK ON TUBERCULOSIS

NSS Tech Cell conducted a class regarding the elimination of Tuberculosis from the society on 24th March.

  • CLEAN CAMPUS SAFE CAMPUS

NSS Tech Cell conducted an awareness program on topic ‘Clean Campus Safe Campus’ in association with the Police Department on 22nd March, 2016.

  • HAIR FOR HOPE

NSS Tech Cell conducted a hair donation program for the cancer patients named ‘HAIR FOR HOPE’ on 17th March 2016 from 3pm to 5.30pm in the campus.

  • ORGAN DONATION AWARENESS

NSS Tech Cell organized a community program to spread the message of organ donation. For this the conducted music and dance as a flash mob on 12th March 2016.

  • CLASS ON LIFESTYLE DISEASES

NSS Tech Cell conducted a class regarding lifestyle diseases on 13th February 2016. Awareness among the students has to be made in order to eliminate this slow killing poison.

  • CLASS ON LEGAL AWARENESS

NSS Tech Cell conducted a class on Legal Awareness on 13th February 2016 for the NSS volunteers.

  • ORIENTATION CLASS

NSS Tech Cell in association with JCI, Thuruthy conducted an orientation class on 13th February 2016.

  • GENDER EQUALITY PROMOTION AND AWARENESS PROGRAMME

NSS Technical Cell organized Gender Equality Promotion and Awareness Programme from January to March 2016, aimed at sensitizing volunteers and community regarding Gender Issues and the importance of Gender Equality in the development of our nation. NSS tech cell actively participated by offering their volunteership in the smooth conduction of the programme conducted on January 27th and 28th 2016.

  • BOOK BINDING

The volunteers of NSS unit conducted a book binding section on 19th January 2016 from 10am to 3pm.

  • ROAD SAFETY WEEK

Kerala Road Safety Authority had conducted a Bullet Rally at Perunna NSS college road on 13th January 2016 as part of the road safety week. Twenty Five NSS volunteers had attended in the rally.

  • SALE OF DETERGENTS

NSS Tech cell of the college has arranged a sale of detergents by the NSS volunteers on 18-12-2015 as part of fund raising for charity.

  • FIRST CONSTITUTION DAY

The NSS Tech of Saintgits celebrated First Constitution Day on 24th November 2015 as per the direction of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt of India and NSS Regional Directorate.

  • NATIONAL UNITY DAY

Saintgits NSS Tech cell observed ‘Rashtriya Ektha Diwas’ (National Unity Day) to re affirm among the youth, the strength of our nation to withstand the threat to unity integrity and security of our country.

  • VIGILANCE WEEK

As per of celebrating the awareness week on Vigilance from 26th to 31st October 2015, NSS Tech Cell of Saintgits conducted poster competition and essay writing competition.

  • MEET THE VC PROGRAMME

As per direction from NSS State Coordinator, ‘Meet the VC Programme’ of KTU was arranged in the campus on 10.10.2015.

  • JEEVADAYINI

The representative of the college attended the blood donors form campaign- Jeevadayini on 6-10-2015 at Kottayam Collectorate.

  • BLOOD DONATION CAMP

The NSS Tech of Saintgits in association with Health Department of Kottayam Medical College organised a blood donation camp in the campus on 6th October 2015.

  • ULLASATHEERAM PROJECT

The NSS Tech Cell in association with the residents of the village organised ‘Ullasatheeram’- a project which focuses on the beautification of Padiyarakadavu-Vakathanam road.

  • NSS DAY CELEBRATION

The NSS Tech Cell of Saintgits celebrated NSS Day on 23th September 2015 and staged a skit, showcasing the message of love and patriotism.

  • 7 DAY NSS CAMP

The 7 Day NSS camp of the NSS unit was conducted from 21st to 27th August 2015 at Saintgits College Of Applied sciences. The main activities were ‘BOOK FOR BOOKLESS’, Manakachira-Contour Road cleaning etc.

  • INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS

The NSS Tech cell of college celebrated Independence Day on 15th august 2015 at college and in association with ‘Changanacherry Vikasana Samithy’ had conducted a program to show respect to the freedom fighters.

  • ENERGY CAMPAIGN

The NSS Tech Cell conducted an energy campaign and survey in Panachikkad Panchayat on 14th August 2015. This campaign was aimed at reducing the energy consumption and using energy more efficiently.

  • WORLD YOUTH DAY

NSS Technical Cell of Saintgits joined hands with the Health Department of Kerala State to observe the World Youth Day on 12-08-15. The programme was inaugurated by Mrs. Jaya Kurian, Panachikad Panchayat Member.

  • DIGITAL INDIA CELEBRATION

NSS Tech Cell of Saintgits organized Digital India Celebration on 17th JULY 2015 at Saintgits College. The students were made aware of all the important applications like Jeevan Pramaan, Digital Locker, e-hospital, e-Governance etc

  • ENVIRONMENT DAY CELEBRATIONS

On 7th JUNE 2015 NSS Tech cell of Saintgits college observe environment day with a variety of programs such as orientation talk followed by planting saplings in the homes of adopted village.

  • WASTE PAPER COLLECTION

The NSS tech cell of Saintgits college collected waste paper from the campus and the usable pages of the books and papers thus collected where used for making books for bookless and the non reusable papers were sold .

  • LIFE STYLE DISEASE

The NSS tech cell of Saintgits college in association with National Rural Health Mission has conducted a class on life-style disease to the NSS volunteers of the college in the campus. The class was taken by Health Officer, Dr. Samual George on 20th Mmarch 2015 at 12.50pm - 2pm

  • VACCINATION CLASS

NSS tech cell of Saintgits conducted two awareness campaigns on 17th march and 20th march 2015 on the topic vaccination and life style disease by Dr.Cincy and Mr.Sam

  • FUND RAISING BLIND

NSS tech cell collected a sum of 21275 RS towards the services of Indian Association for blind.

The NSS tech cell of Saintgits college in association with District Health Council has conducted a painting competition on the topic 'Anti-Drug Awareness ‘for the students of the college on 13th march 2015

The NSS techcell of Saintgits college conducted an orientation class for NSS aspirants from first year on 10th march 2015 about the importance of NSS in academics by vinay kumar .

The NSS tech cell of Saintgits College has organised a fund raising campaign by the name 'HAIR FOR HOPE’. The program was inaugurated by former P.O Mr. Vinay Kumar .The program also included a class about the importance of the same by Mrs. Jose. K. Mani

  • CHILD WELFARE STAMP

The NSS tech cell of Saintgits college collected a sum of 2K RS towards the services of Kerala State Council For Child welfare as per GO(Rt) No.49/2014/SJD-DATED 17/1/14.The stamps sold were 2013 version.

  • PUNARJANI

The NSS tech cell of Saintgits college in association with the Kerala government's 'MRITHASANJAEVANI' project, has organised an organ donation campaign in the college campus.14 volunteers actively participated during the campaign ,and over 800 consent letters were collected from the students from both engineering and arts college in connection with the same

  • RUN KERALA RUN

The NSS tech cell of Saintgits college with all of its volunteers have participated in the RUN KERALA RUN marathon - a promotional programme to support the national games held in Kerala the marathon was flagged off by the college Prinicipal, Dr. M .C. Philipose and the closing ceremony was conducted by Honourable M.L.A, Mr. C. F. Thomas.

  • E-LITERACY

The E-Literacy program organized by NSS unit of this college for the members of kudumbasree units on 13th Dec 2014.As the 2nd phase of E-literacy programme, an advanced course of computer literacy was conducted in the internet lab of Saintgits college.

  • PROLIFE EXHIBITION AND ABORTION

NSS tech cell of the college in association with Kripa prolife, chry has arranged a session on abortion for the NSS volunteers on 18/12/2014.the session was handled by Mr.Mathukutty and later on 19th a prolife exhibition was conducted in the campus

  • AIDS CAMP

Kerala state AIDS control society, in association with NSS and HLFPPT has organized a 3 day training programme at Kottayam and our volunteer Mr.TONEY SHAJI attended the same.

  • BOOK GIFTING AT ST MARY'S THURUTHY

The books produced from the unused papers of our assignments book were ready for distribution. And the books thus made were distributed among poor students of ST MARY'S school on 15-11-2014.

  • RASHTRIYA EKTHA DIN

Rastriya ektha din was celebrated on 31 October 2014 as a part of the birthday of Sri.Sardhar Vallabhai Pattel .As a part of the same a class was conducted by the vice principal of the college to all the NSS volunteers about the role of Sri.Sardhar Vallabhai Pattel in the unified India

Grievance redressal adalatha regarding NSS certificate and Grace Marks issued through online process of NSS technical cell(PENTA ) on 8th November 2014 at Govt. poly Kalamassery.

  • PALIATIVE CARE WORK

Alpha palliative care organized a 'walk at thought' program at Kottayam on 17th October friday at 9 am .And 10 volunteers from various departments attended the same without fail.

  • BLOOD DONATION CAMP

The Blood donation camp organized by the NSS TECH CELL of our college was conducted on 17 October 2014 in the MBA seminar hall of Saintgits. There were 155 donors and was undertaken by Kottayam medical college under the supervision of Dr.jerin and Dr.joy

  • GIRL CHILD DAY

A tableau was conducted at saintgits on Oct 11 2014 in order to celebrate the National Girl Child Day and to spread the importance of the same within the students.

  • GROUP DYNAMICS

As a part of planning about the activities .A three hour program was conducted on 13th oct 2014, were the entire group was divided in to 5 subgroups and was made to propose ideas which could be done in the campus and all the groups were made to present their ideas and the good ones were selected for accomplishment.

  • CLEAN INDIA GANDHI-JAYANTHI

As a part of Gandhi Jayanthi celebration on October second. The NSS volunteers of the college cleaned the entire campus and its premises.

  • SHOWCASE PROGRAMME

The NSS volunteers of saintgits college of engineering conducted a showcase program during the last 2 hours on 30/9/2014

  • TRAFFIC AWARENESS

The Saintgits NSS tech cell had organised a traffic awareness programme on 25th and 30th September 2014. The aim was to give awareness to the public. 60 NSS volunteers along with the public joined the class.

  • STAGE PROGRAM - NSS DAY

The Saintgits NSS tech cell had organised a creative skit on 30th  September 2014 as a part of NSS day celebration .The skit was based on college life and drug abuse.35 students appeared on the stage in different role.

  • N-DART (NSS DISASTER AND ACCIDENT RELEIF TEAM)

A 5 day camp was organised by NSS at polytechnic college Muttom, Idukki from 20th -24th  September 2014, and as a part of the same 2 of our volunteers Joby John and Shilpa Abraham attended the camp. The camp was organised by DIRECTORATE OF SPORTS AND YOUTH AFFAIRS and it provided a great exposure for the students

  • ORIENTATION

An orientation class was conducted for the NSS volunteers on 16th and 18th September 2014.The session was handled by the programe officer, Er. Francis Augustine He inspired volunteers about the plan of action, motivation etc..

  • AGRICULTURE CAMP

As a part of NSS technical cell of Saintgits College of Engineering. Reval Alexander and Joby John participated in the state level training program from 12th to 14th September 2014 on "HIGH TECH SEED GERMINATION TECHNOLOGY" at Central Polytechnic College, Thiruvananthapuram.

  • BLIND FUND RAISING (WHITE CANE DAY FUND RAISING)

In association with the Indian Association for the blind ,we have collected a sum of rupees 7.5K Rs was collected by selling stamps on 8/9/2014.The amount collected was sent to IAB cell at Madurai for the effective utilization.

  • NSS-CAMP

The 7 day NSS special camp was conducted from 8th to 14th September 2014 at MAR BASELIOUS DAYARA, NJALIYAKUZHY. The camp consisted of 47 students and the camp ended succesfully after the 7th day.

 

  • TRAFFIC SAFETY CLASS

The NSS tech cell unit of Saintgits College of Engineering conducted a road safety class on 16th AUGUST 2014.The session was on road safety by the SI of Chingavanam police station Mr Pushpan. The class mainly focused on how to reduce the impact of the accident and so on.

  • BOOK BINDING

The NSS tech cell unit of Saintgits College of Engineering had organised a book binding program on 15th AUGUST 2014 as a part of Independence day celebration .The aim is to use the remaining papers of the assignment books and to bind it as a new book. This 2 day program was an experience to the students

  • INDEPENDENCE DAY

As a part of Independence day celebration the Saintgits NSS tech cell has organised a flag hosting ceremony which was done by college C.O.O Lt.Col john jacob. The program was ended with National Anthem and sweet distribution

  • ENVIORNMENT DAY

As a part of the environment day celebration, students and NSS volunteers have planted about 100 tree saplings in and around the college premises and in their own homes. A short and precise talk was delivered by the programme officer on the importance of environment day

  • WASTE PAPER COLLECTION

The NSS tech cell unit of Saintgits College of Engineering had organised a continous activity on 24th may 2014 called waste paper collection to earn some money for charity works. For that waste was collected from each department and was sorted to different category and reusable papers were used and the rest were sold for money.

  • CLEANING PROGRAM

As a part of clean India campaign, the Tech cell students of our campus have cleaned the road premises in and around campus on 11th April 2014. The function was inaugurated by Bablo sir. The whole hearted support of Panachikad Panchayat and Federal constructions was much appreciated
